FAQ's
Do you take insurance?
I am in network with only a few insurance companies. Currently, I accept: Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Caresource (marketplace only - not medicaid). If your insurance is not listed here, I DO NOT accept it. Even though I am in network with the above insurance programs, not all plans cover counseling. If you are unsure of what your insurance will cover, you can call your insurance company and ask what your benefits are for outpatient counseling (or mental/behavioral health benefits).
What can I do if you do not take my insurance or my insurance doesn't cover counseling?
If you have out of network coverage, I can provide you a receipt of your payments, so that you can submit to insurance for any reimbursement (if applicable). If you are unable to use insurance, you will be responsible for the entire session amount.
Do you have any evening or weekend appointments?
Unfortunately, as a new client entering the practice, I almost never have a late afternoon/evening time slot available and I do not work on weekends. It is typical, if I have any openings, to only have openings mid-day between 11am-2pm. For those attending public school, counseling IS an excused absence. Clients who are actively coming during the day and need a later appointment time will be put on a wait list for their preferred time.
What are your session fees?
Sessions are 45-50 minutes. Play therapy sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes. All sessions are $125.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
•You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
•Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
•If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
•Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
